Oystercatchers symbolize protection, loyalty, and the ushering in of spring, deeply rooted in Celtic folklore as the "servant of St. Brigid" (Gille-brìghde). They are viewed as guardians that hid Christ from enemies, representing divine protection and, due to their shrill calls, acting as harbingers of storms.
